Wine Tour Montepulciano Tuscany

Heading north leave Rome, drive along the Highway of the Sun and crossing the Tiber river valleys you arrive to Montepulciano. Our first stop is a vineyard where the wine maker, will show us the wine cellar and also fruity and perfumed wines that it produces, including, of course, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

After the visit, you will have the chance to stroll through the ancient streets of Montepulciano. The walled city of Montepulciano stands atop one of the highest peaks in Tuscany, 605 meters, or 1,950 feet above the sea. It contains incredible treasures of art and Etruscan and Roman cellars, some dating back to the time before Christ. For lunch we will go to a local restaurant (below the remains of an ancient monastery).

In the afternoon we'll visit the town of Pienza, in the Val d'Orcia. Pienza is an architectural gem and a great place to buy local food products, particularly tasty pecorino chesse. In the 15th century, Pienza was a small fortified hill town of no particular distinction until Pope Pius II decided to transform it into a Renaissance ideal city. Free time for shopping and return to Rome.

Payments

Rates can be paid at the end of each excursion directly to the driver in Euros cash, Euro travellers’ cheque. Travellers’ cheque has a Euro 5.00 charge for bank fees. Visa and Mastercard credit cards are welcome in advanced. Credit card payments are subject to a 5% bank fees surcharge. Booking 3 services: Livorno - Civitavecchia - Naples require a deposit of 10% at least of one. The final balance will have to be made at the end of the tour. Our rates are for vehicles NOT for number of persons.
