Leaving Madrid towards Avila the famous city walls of the 11th century around the old town with its churchs, towers and Gothic palaces, declared "World Heritage" city by UNESCO. Avila is a major pilgrimage site of great mystic of the catholic church Santa Teresa de Jesus who was born here (1515-1582). Explore two of the best examples of Romanesque and Gothic churches in Avila: Basilica of San Vicente, a masterpiece of Gothic and the gem of the romanesque architecture "the Cathedral of Avila ", celebrates for its fortress design, alabaster chapels and ornated tombs.
Departure to Segovia to see one of the best monuments of the Roman era in Spain - Roman aqueduct of Segovia. Admire the scale of this amazing piece of engineering, built entirely without mortar during the reign of Augustus in the 1st century AD, and see how the originally aqueduct had 118 arches and was 10 miles (16 kilometers) long. It was an important military center during the Roman period, proof of that is the construction of this magnificent Aqueduct. Segovia, chosen by some Castilian kings to his residence, preserves one of the most notable medieval entirety of Spain. Upon arrival, free for lunch. After lunch we visit the Cathedral (last Gothic cathedral built in Spain, and is considered by its elegance "The Lady of the Spanish Cathedrals") and the Alcázar (the most spectacular castle of the country), with its recent Artillery Museum.
